A specialist learning centre in Blaenau Gwent has asked Broad Education Staffing to find a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Science to begin ASAP in their Key Stage 3 and 4 centre, which caters for the education and care of secondary school pupils with Social, Emotional & Mental Health issues (previously known as Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties)
Candidates with the ability to teach Chemistry, Biology, Physics or General Science will be considered, as the ability to teach and support children with social, emotional and behavioural SEN requirements is a more prioritised criteria than the science specialism.
The role is required to begin ASAP and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a number of classes throughout the school, providing varied and engaging Science learning opportunities.
The school have specialist support staff in every class. Candidates with experience and specific training related to teaching pupils with SEMH/SEBD/SEN are particularly invited to apply.
The role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure, so the successful candidate will already have (or be prepared to apply very soon for) a suitable disclosure, registered with the DBS update service. Full assistance in gaining a DBS disclosure can be provided by Broad Education Staffing, with most checks being managed in a matter of days.
It will also require EWC registration and the ability to provide at least 2 teaching references, including the last place you taught.
